Professional Christmas light installation usually goes like this: a quote from a photo of your house, a scheduled install day in October or November, lights tested and set on a timer, service calls if anything goes out in December, and takedown in January. You don't have to be home for most installs.
If you've never hired out your Christmas lights, here's how it works from start to finish, so there are no surprises.
1. The quote
Send a daylight photo of the front of your house and tell us what you'd like lit: rooflines, peaks, the entry, trees or shrubs. We'll recommend a layout and give you a price. Most quotes can be done from photos.
2. Picking your look
Warm white or multicolor, C9s on the roofline, mini lights on shrubs. If you're stuck, this guide helps.
3. Install day
- Most installs happen from mid-October through November.
- You usually don't need to be home. We just need access to outdoor outlets.
- Lights are attached with clips, not nails or staples. Here's why that matters.
- Everything is tested before we leave.
4. Timers and turning them on
Timers are set so the lights come on every evening on their own. Most people start right after Thanksgiving.
5. During the season
If a strand or section goes dark, let us know and we'll fix it.
6. Takedown
After the holidays, usually in January, we take everything down. No January ladder trips for you.
